Big Wishes for a Picture Perfect Birthday

My family has always celebrated birthdays big time with cards!  Going to the local card was never easy because we never walked out with just ONE card for family members... sure we forced ourselves to get just one when we were mailing them, but sometimes it still took more than one to relay the message(s) we wanted to get across.

Fast forward to the present... I still have the same problem today when making cards!  What about you?!?  So when my DH celebrated a birthday (half way between two decades!) last month, I hopped at the chance (as usual) to make his card along with our son's card for his dad.  And, let's not forget, Spot, the family dog, had to have a card for his dad, too!

My card for my hubby was the first accordion style card I have ever made!  It was actually a lot of fun card to make...

This card was quite thick...

And the binding... was rather seamless, don't you think?

The birds' eyeview shows the layout and the pocket
was perfect for a gift card, cash or check.

Look at all those candles... one for year!  This was quite easy to replicate
using the generation/off-stamping technique!

Our son's card for his dad was another fun one as it was done in blue and yellow to represent his favorite collegiate team at the moment - GO BLUE!

The torn edges and dry embossed lines (made with the scoring blade on the Stampin' Trimmer) added some details to the card to keep it a fun father/son card.  The lights on the candles were colored with Daffodil Delight ink and a damp Aqua Painter.  And the inside of the card (not pictured) had the "Hope your day is truly amazing" phrase stamped in Pacific Point from this incredible stamp set.

And then there is the card from Spot, the family dog!  Who would guess that this card is from that loving family member?

The inside top of the card... with a balloon (minus a string) and confetti (from scraps)

With the magic hint from who it's from using a custom stamp made from our favorite picture of him!

I hope that these birthday cards have inspired you to get creative for those extra special birthdays for those you love!  Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world and happy stampin'!

Have a blessed day!
