Forever Lovely Lilies - Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop - March 2019

Thank you for joining us for our Demonstrator Training Blog Hop!  It is so wonderful to be a part of Kylie's Demonstrator Training Group.  This group provides such an invaluable amount of training to help demonstrators in this group with their Stampin' Up!® businesses, not only from Kylie, but her amazing guest speakers - many of whom are top global Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators - and the members themselves.  There is nothing like being inspired to do great things!

So many of us that love paper hugs aka cards understand that each one we create can be it's own little  masterpiece, our own little treasure that we only hope will be loved as much by the recipient as it is by us, the creator.  So what happens when you use a stamp set that is a masterpiece itself?!  Case a card from an Artisan!

When I saw Emma Goddard's cards from the SAB Coordination Artisan Design Team Blog Hop, I was so enamored with everything about them.  My creative mojo was going off the charts with possibilities as to the cards that I could create just with the layout.

My mom had a big birthday last week so I knew she needed a special birthday card.   While shopping for her birthday flowers, I spotted the inspiration that I was going to use for the color of the lilies.

Emma's technique with using the watercolor pencils was furthest from my mind.  I thought I was going to be able to just stamp, add the color to the center with my Aqua Painter and "Viola!" I'd be done... I couldn't have been more wrong!  I clearly wasn't remembering all the minuscule details from her Facebook live where she demonstrated her techniques for coloring the lilies.

Soft Suede off-stamped on Shimmery White cardstock gave me the closest color image to work with to add the purple center created with Blackberry Bliss ink.  The colors were perfect but I couldn't see any of the details or the stamen so out came the watercolor pencils... Basic Black and Early Expresso helped keep the richness of the Blackberry Bliss (more purple) watercolor as I was using the Rich Razzleberry (more pink) pencil.  The lily body varied in color from ivory to a pale yellow depending on the lighting; hence, the Whisper White pencil.  And of course, the stamen had to be Daffodil Delight.  And there was no need for any fussy cutting thanks to the fabulous coordinating framelits (you can purchase these between now and March 31st as a SAB coordination purchase!).  Cutting multiples and using the Stamparatus for stamping made it quick to stamp and assemble.

And let's not forget the Whisper White embossing of the elegant sentiment to make it pop out off the Night of Navy Country Floral embossed background while the Olive Green Linen Thread neatly ties everything together!

This was actually a creative challenge for me using this Distinktive stamp set (**which can be yours for FREE with a $100 purchase before March 31st)... so hopefully, I have inspired you to think outside the box and create something beautiful today!  If I have, please let me know in the comments below.
