Torn Faux Oxide Background with Daisies - Tips for Technique Tuesday

Happy Tuesday, ya'll!  Today, I thought I'd share with you some more cards that I made with that fun Faux Oxide Technique (click here to see my previous post).

The coloring doesn't have to stop with the background... it can continue to the actual daisies.

The daisy on the left was actually used as the mask for the envelope... as I was cleaning off the oxide residue from my sponge dauber.  The actual mask I thought it was too cute to toss.  Soooo, while looking at the Whisper White Faux Oxide background I was torn as to what to do with it... my creative mind was over thinking.  And then I repeated, "I'm torn with what to do..."  **Well, HELLO!!!! What a brilliant idea!** Next, the paper was happily being torn into sizes that would work perfectly for two card fronts!

Looking at the three papers again, can you guess the size card that was made with the remaining piece?  Well, you don't get too many guesses, because it's another 4-1/4" square card!

As you can tell, the Whisper White cardstock is perfect for this Torn technique.  The Pool Party daisy was created the same way as the Blueberry Bushel daisy.  The Leaf Punch came in handy, too, for more sponging.  The weathered look of the background was framed with trimmed 5/8" Burlap Ribbon which was adhered with Tear & Tape Adhesive (cut in half right down the middle of a torn strip).

And with a smidgen of the background left that couldn't go to waste, it made a perfect side panel for the inside.
