Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop - January 2020 - Love is in the Air

Welcome to the Ink and Inspiration Blog Hop. You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA.  This AMAZING group of talented, international Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators has some incredible projects for those of you who need to add a little love in your projects... I hope you enjoy my project as we share Love is in the Air

I decided to challenge myself and not use a heart for this fun-filled theme...  so I enjoyed picking a sentiment that would help me play "up" with the words.  Peaceful Moments, the sentiment stamp set in the Peaceful Poppies Suite, had the perfect sentiment for this idea.

Starting with a 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Whisper White cardstock, the poppy grouping from Painted Poppies was inked with Memento Tuxedo Black and stamped three times across the bottom.  The grass was created with the solid poppy background off stamped in Old Olive.  The smallest splat stamp was randomly stamped in Old Olive.  The stems were lined with a Dark Old Olive Blends Marker.  The poppies were randomly colored with Light Blackberry Bliss, Light Poppy Parade, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Calypso Coral and Dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends Markers.  The sky was colored with Light and Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends Markers.  Afterwards, the colored layer  was ran through the embossing and die cut machine with the 3rd largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangle Dies and adhered to another stitched rectangle die cut (the next largest size) with liquid glue.

The Whisper White 1/4" Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was stamped and off stamped with the small splat stamp repeatedly and set aside to dry.  The card base is Rich Razzleberry.  The Scripty 3D Embossing Folder was selected to emboss the Rich Razzleberry background layer due to its various  romantic poetic phrases.  The ribbon was tied across the bottom of the poppies.  Unfortunately, the ribbon smeared a bit on my fingers and everything was "clean" except for a small smudge along the top edge of the solid stitched rectangle.  The smudge is what created my "ah-ha" moment when I decided to create a "banner" with the label die from the coordinating Painted Labels Dies.

The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark, heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder, and fussy cut.  The words were adhered to the "banner" (label scored and folded in half) with Mini Glue Dots.  The backside of the "banner" was adhered to the backside of the solid white stitched rectangle layer.  The tied layers were then adhered to the card front at a fun jaunty angle... like a love note.

But wait, let's not forget the inside!  This is just as important as the front (if not more so as far as I'm concerned)!  The poppies were once again stamped and colored onto a stitched rectangle (the largest one in the set) along with the Script embossed layer.  Everything complimenting the card front even the envelope!
