Benji and I went for a walk earlier today...  totally unplanned but it allowed me time to have plenty of time to take some amazing pictures.  One of the pictures that I took totally inspired me for today's card which I have entered in the Freshly Made Sketches 491 Challenge at the last minute!

Prior to spotting this single wild rose, I spotted a cluster of them with bumblebees swarming all them.  My creativity was going around in all directions much like the bees with what I could create.  And then I recalled this sketch challenge and started thinking... was it rainbow stripes?  Monochrome stripes?  So I started envisioning what I could do with this amazing new Art in Bloom Bundle.

After looking at the challenge picture when I got into my craft space I just seemed to me that the four rectangles just needed to be different.  First try was using the amazing Hybrid Blooms Embossing folder with the rectangles.  I thought I'd watercolor wash them... not enough time for that.  And then I thought of using my Blending Brushes... too similar to other entries that I had seen.  Then I thought concentrate on three colors... and the rest fell into place thanks to my inspirational picture.

Project Details

Using the Art in Bloom double leaf fill image, the image was stamped in Garden Green ink onto one rectangle and stamped again on a second rectangle.  This was done repeatedly until both rectangles were filled.  Then the process was repeated with two more rectangles.  The rectangles were adhered to a 4" x 5-1/4" Garden Green Cardstock layer.  The blooms were die-cut using the coordinating die with the Hybrid Bloom Embossing Folder.  I have always been fascinated with the reverse side of the die-cuts so that is the side that was watercolored with a damp Water Painter with Polished Pink and Daffodil Delight inks.  The detailed leaf dies were die-cut with Vellum cardstock and tucked behind the blossoms.  The Tasteful Touches sentiment was heat embossed on a scrap piece of Garden Green Cardstock.  The sentiment of trimmed down and tucked behind the front blossom... the left side was hand cut as an after thought for some added interest.  A double White Baker's Twine bow was added for a finishing touch.

The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front.  And the envelope front and flap were also stamped to coordinate with the card... there's nothing like providing a sneak peek of what's inside for the recipient.
