Ink.Stamp.Share Blog Hop 2022 Banner

Happy Saturday and welcome to my blog!  Today I am hopping along the Ink.Stamp.Share Monthly Blog Hop as we share projects which we have created from the fabulous Suite Collections.  We hope that we inspire you to create along with us.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!

Today's Project

Don't you just love tulips?  I do!  My parents were blessed to travel to the Netherlands decades ago and were in awe of the endless fields of tulips.  Tulips bring such hope and happiness of the season ahead.  For more details about this amazing flower, click here.

The Flowering Fields Suite has some beautiful samples in the January-June 2022 Mini Catalog created by the Concept Artists.  While Jo Blackman, the organizer of this blog hop, did an unbelievable presentation of this Suite during OnStage@Home in November 2021.  This Suite is comprised of Two Stamp Set  Bundles with Dies, Flowering Fields 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, Evening Evergreen Double Pane Checked Ribbon and Brushed Brass Butterfly Embellishments.

And, yes, with this being my first time to use this amazing Suite, I had to CAS(e) the Catalog as Flowering Tulips is a 2-Step Stamp Set and I wanted to practice using the stamps in the way they were intended to used before I let my creativity run wild.  I hope this inspires you to do the same.

Project Details

The Designer Series Paper used for the catalog sample was the inspiration for the background layer that I created for my card.  Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Soft Succulent inks were blended onto Pool Party Cardstock with a Blending Brush.  The two-step tulip blooms were stamped several times on some Basic White Cardstock scraps to test all sorts of color combinations and layering possibilities with Calypso Coral and Petal Pink being my decisions for today's card.

The stems, leaves and grass were stamped with Pear Pizzazz and Soft Succulent inks.  [NOTE: Yes, the stems and leaves are fun to stamp... it just took me about four attempts to get the angles I was wanting to achieve as there are all sorts of directions you can go with these images. **WINK**]  The Calming Camellia sentiment was inked with VersaMark, stamped onto a strip of Petal Pink and heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The panel was layered up with scraps of Petal Pink Cardstock.  White Baker's Twine was wrapped around the stamped layer twice along with a single wrap of Gold Simply Elegant Trim and tied off with a bow.  The stamped layer was layered up with Basic White Thick scraps to recreate a flush back layer for adhering to the blended Pool Party Cardstock layer.  The Brushed Brass Butterflies were added for the final touch.

The inside layers were replicated to compliment the card front including the heat embossed Calming Camellia sentiment.  The envelope front and flap were also stamped to compliment the card with the  inspirational Flowering Fields DSP used for the envelope liner.
