Stampin' Up! Poised Peony In Color Beauties preview | Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie

New at SU! Blog Hop banner

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Today I am hopping with the New at SU! Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative paper crafting ideas to share with you and get you crafting!  Today we are showcasing projects featuring the new 2024-2026 In Color™ Collection.

Today's project is all about new colors!  So it was time to pull out a new stamp set, a new embossing folder, some new cardstock, and my new Stampin' Blends Markers for some quick and relaxing coloring.

Poised Peony In Color Beauties - trio | Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie

Creating this card inspired me to make multiples.  The Poised Peony stamp set is featured in the "Quick & Easy Options" section of the Stampin' Up!® 2024-2025 Annual Catalog on page 28-29.  The samples are perfect for those who wish to create something quickly for gift packaging with simple stamping or stepping it up with twine, pretty paper and a punch.  Should you wish to create a card to go with your gift packaging or even make a stack of cards as the actual gift, well, this stamp set can help you do that quickly and easily.

Project Details...

The large peony was stamped on a quarter piece of Basic White Cardstock with Crumb Cake ink.  Color the blooms with the Light Pretty in Pink, Light Petunia Pop and Light Peach Pie Stampin' Blends Markers.  Color the leaves with the Light Shy Shamrock Stampin' Blends Marker.

The shading was created by marking the places you want the darker colors then coloring a second over the color as you blend lightly into the white space.  Simply coloring with the bullet tip with the same color allows you more control of the shade variants.  The same effect can be achieved with your Dark Stampin' Blends - just remember that it's easier to add color than it is to remove color.

TIP:  Do some test scribbles on a scrap piece of cardstock of the colors you wish to use before starting to see how the Light and Dark blend together or how certain colors will blend together.

Linen Thread was wrapped around the colored layer twice and tied off with a bow.  The sentiment was stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto a 3/4" x 2-1/2" strip of Basic White Cardstock.  The right side was fishtailed with Paper Snips Scissors by snipping a bit in the center then cutting from one corner to the center cut and repeat of the other corner (you'll have two tiny triangles fall onto your work surface).  The banner was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  This layer was adhered to a Summer Splash cardstock layer at an angle with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Emboss a Basic Beige Cardstock layer with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder and center on the Crumb Cake Cardbase that can be stamped as a design option.  Adhere the assembled peony layers with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Embellish with the 2024-2026 In Color™ Shimmer Gems that compliment the peony.

The inside of the card was layered and stamped to compliment the card front.  The small peony image was stamped off twice with Crumb Cake ink for a subtle 3rd generation background under the Crumb Cake sentiment.  The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.
