Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop - October 2018

Welcome to the October 2018 edition of the Stampin’ Dreams Blog Hop!  You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie from the USA.  The theme this month is HALLOWEEN/FALL!

This past week I had my second Coffee, Cards & More class at our local community center.  I have had so much fun teaching these ladies how to bring out their creativity and CAS(e) what is before their eyes.  I have always wanted to teach a card class and now that I am a Stampin' Up!® demonstrator I am able to do just that!  Here's a sneak peek of the technique that we did.

One of the ladies asked me what I called this and I told here it was a modified Joseph's Coat technique.  This card was a cross between the Joseph's Coat Technique and two cards made by Jenny Hall and Melissa Davies.

Colorful Seasons and Lined Alphabet came together to make this fun, fall card.  One of the cards from Tuesday's Coffee, Cards & More class used the Baby Wipe technique and I just couldn't let the gorgeous colors on the baby wipe go to waste.

A strip of Very Vanilla cardstock was pressed all over the baby wipe and this was the result after it dried.  If you zoom in on the picture close enough, you will notice this was my first trial as I goofed with the "double l" in fall (they were too close to each other)... but it has made a great sample of what not to do!

The leaf and letters were stamped in VersaMark ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Once it cooled, the leaf and letters were filled with a liquid masking fluid and left to completely dry (about 30 minutes).  Next the layer was sponged with a sponge dauber to get the darker background.  The final step was to remove the masking fluid... yes, with your finger.  This was a message card to make as we all got inky fingers, but that's when you know you've had fun, right?!?

The cardbase was stamped using VersaMark.  Why not a color you might ask?  Well, take a look inside!

The inside was stamped with the Baby Wipe!  There was no need to "clean" the stamp after all the stamping on the front.  We were just able to go directly from using VersaMark to the Baby Wipe.

I hope this card has inspired you to get creative with your ink refills and try some new or different techniques with your cards.  You are currently visiting Angie McKenzie.  Now it's time to get more inspiration from the other stampers that are part of this Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop by clicking on the list below.  You sure don't want to miss any!
