Poetic Petals for the Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop - August 2026 | Technique Challenge

Hello friends!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do!  We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.  

This month we are sharing projects based on our Rubberband Technique Challenge to create a background!  I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this fun sketch.   

Today's Project

Project Details

I have been playing with our Basic Beige cardstock a lot lately.

So it was a natural for me to pull out to create this card which fits perfectly in a No. 10 size envelope (4.125" x 9.5" | 10.4 cm x 24.1 cm).

This amazing new bundle comes with three different floral designs and three different square edgings.  Leaving you plenty of creative options to use (or not to use)!

Three 2-1/2" squares were cut from Basic White cardstock to use for this fun technique.  My recently re-inked Balmy Blue ink pad (thus it's darker appearance) and my well loved Lost Lagoon ink pad were my color choices.

Three different sized rubberbands were added to two of my favorite sized clear blocks ("D").  Balmy Blue was stamped in one direction and off-stamped perpendicularly.  Lost Lagoon was stamped full strength in both directions.

I chose to die-cut the single floral die with the stitched detail square.  The detail die fits nicely in the stitched die.  TIP: Secure them with Post-it Tape before running through your diecutting machine.

The diecuts were adhered to the stamped squares with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  

The excess was trimmed with my Detailed Scissors.

Subtle texture was added to the card with a wadded paper Basic Beige layer which was adhered to a smaller size Basic Beige card layer. 

Linen Thread was doubled, wrapped around the adhered layers and tied off in a bow.

The Balmy Blue squares were adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The Lost Lagoon square was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Poetic Petals sentiment was white heat embossed, lovingly fussycut and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The inside of the card features a Basic White layer with 1/2" strips of this fun technique in Balmy Blue along the top and bottom with plenty of room to correspond to a dear friend.
