Timeless Tidings Plaid

Hope this finds you enjoying the month of November.  It won't be long until Thanksgiving is here in the US!  And what do we do right after Thanksgiving?  We get into the Christmas rush... the rush to get the best deals for presents and the rush to get cards posted to our family and friends to share the Christmas spirit of giving.  Yes, it's so wonderful to give!

So today, I'm giving you a jump start for the Christmas spirit of giving.

Nothing says Christmas like red, green and glitter - right?!  But when we through it a non-traditional color that compliments these traditional colors... would you say "wow"?  I'm definitely feeling the cold briskness of the snow on the ground just waiting for Santa's sleigh.

The Timeless Tidings stamp set (sold separately) completes the gorgeous richly colored Timeless Tidings Project Kit in the 2018-19 Annual Catalog.  So why not find a way to use this stamp set another way?

Pairing this traditional set with the Buffalo Check to create a holiday plaid (click here for details) with the Blends Markers was a no-brainer for me.  Adding Dazzling Diamonds to the Night of Navy pine tree reflects freshly fallen snow on a cold December night.

From this angle, you will notice the stamping on the die-cut tree a bit better.  You may also notice - if you squint real hard - the boo boo that I did on the green trees.  Since this stamp set is rubber, I thought I would try the Huff Technique with the Blends.  Don't bother trying this as it does not work...  it just made it tough to clean the stamp.  Lots of scrubbing until I decided to pull out the Staz-On cleaner which did the trick.  The trees and the dots were definitely a bit easier to stamp with ink.

The sentiment layer was adhered with Dimensionals and aligned to the right.  You might like to add a red rhinestone or two here, if you like more sparkle or even some pearls colored with Blends to mimic snowballs.

Not wanting to waste any scrap pieces of the custom plaid, a scrap piece was layered to replicate the front panel.  And remember to carryover the theme to envelope for a sneak peek of what's inside!

I hope this has inspired you to spread some traditional cheer with a twist this year.
Have a blessed day!
