An Encouraging Snowflake | International Blog Highlights - January 2019

Have you ever known someone who needs a little pick me pick... or someone who might not be having the best day...  or someone who is being their own worst enemy?  It seems that I run into someone that's feeling down several times a week until I send a smile their way.  However, when we're not able to cheer them up face to face, there's nothing like a little paper sunshine to do the trick, right?!?

This note of encouragement was made for a dear friend who definitely needs a hug across the miles.

I had some extra baby wipe backgrounds that I made for my Coffee, Cards and More class last month that I have been wanting to use.  And since my friend loves snowflakes, I thought these snowflakes would be just the thing to cheer her up!

The intricate details of the Swirly Snowflakes Thinlits Dies (from the Annual Catalog) add to the magic created in the background with a little rubbing alcohol, two reinkers and a cotton ball.  The effect reminds me of snow blowing during a snowstorm!  Wrapping the embossed image with Whisper White Baker's Twine assisted in keeping the layer down while adding just a touch of warmth to the cool card.

Sometimes the things we love most come with a little turmoil... but it's the turmoil that can make us stronger.  The sentiments from the Strong & Beautiful stamp set (from the 2019 Occasions Catalog) were just the perfect words that I wanted to convey to my friend to encourage her as she is a phenomenal young lady.

For the inside, a scrap piece from the front background was trimmed down and adhered to compliment the front layout.  The coordinating stamp of the embossed image was off stamped as the backdrop for the inside sentiment.

And, of course, one mustn't forget the envelope.  The coordinating snowflake stamp was stamped three times before reinking it to decorate the front and the flap giving a sneak peek of what's inside the envelope.

I would love to know what you think about today's card that was inspired from one of my Coffee, Cards and More class cards for the ENCOURAGEMENT theme this month on Kylie Bertucci's International Stampin' Up!® Blog Highlights!  Please feel free to leave your comments below.

If you like my card, you can vote for me HERE on Kylie's International Blog Highlights where you will see that I am #17.  I hope that while you're there, you will enjoy some additional inspiration from the other entries.  The Top Ten (10) Winners will be announced in one week and will get to participate in a blog hop together later this month (and you know that I LOVE blog hops!).
Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!
Have a blessed day!
