Global Creative INKspirations - November 2019 - Christmas

Welcome to another edition of the Global Creative INKspirations Blog Hop!  The three of us - Tania TobinDanielle Kassing and myself - are teaming together to expand your creative inspirations - well, INKspirations as I call it!  You are either starting here or coming from Danielle's blog.  We hope that you are enjoying these special monthly posts as much as we enjoy sharing this time with you!  This month we are focusing on Christmas.

I have just gotten back from a lovely Thanksgiving meal with friends and family!  It was such a wonderful time and I am a bit full of both gratefulness and food!  So sit back and enjoy this little hop with us when you get a chance!

Inspired by all the Christmas decor that I have seen lately around all the local shops, I couldn't but not attempt to recreate what my memory recalled of the gorgeousness.

The Cherry Cobbler cardbase is a top folding horizontal layout.  The Very Vanilla layer was ran through the embossing machine with the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder.  The tree from Perfectly Plaid was stamped in Cherry Cobbler onto a scrap piece of Very Vanilla, punched with the coordinating Pine Tree Punch and edged with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Marker.  The reindeer was die cut from Cherry Cobbler twice with one of the smaller Detailed Deer Dies.  The Still Scenes sentiment was stamped on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla and rounded with a bone folder for added dimension.  The Basic Pearl Jewels were colored with the Dark Cherry Cobbler Blends prior to adhering to the sentiment.

The inside panel was embossed and stamped to coordinate the the card front.  The envelope flap was embossed to carry through with the Winter Knit.  This card can definitely be massed produced for the holidays!

Now let's see the card that went through many trial and errors to get the look that I wanted, but still haven't gotten it just right!

Inspired by a ivory blanket with black and red highlights with a similar knit pattern as the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder, I was rather stumped with how to achieve the black accents.  Next week, I will post a card using my first failed attempt with this design.  The third attempt was definitely the look, but it was not cardworthy by the time I was done... in otherwords, it did not spark joy with me!  So I will be retrying my third attempt sometime soon.

A layer of Basic Black cardstock was ran through the embossing machine with the Winter Knit 3D Embossing Folder and then brayered with Whisper White Craft Ink.  The areas that retained the ink appeared gray once dry so an Ivory Stampin' Blends Marker was used as a wash over the star elements.  The center rows were colored with a Dark Cherry Cobbler Blends Marker.  The trees and deer used the same supplies as mentioned in the previous card.

The inside was embossed and stamped to compliment the cardfront leaving just enough room for a signature.  A quick fix for more writing space is to add a second layer to the top inner half after you've completed writing to prevent any mishaps to the cardfront.

I hope that this has inspired you to use your dies, punches and embossing folders!  Now, let's pop over for some more inspiration across the waters with Tania (click here)!  She has another fabulous idea for you... you'll be amazed, I'm sure.
