Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop - September 2020 | Tag Team! - Coordinating Projects

Welcome to the September 2020 Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!  Some of my Stampin' Up! Demonstrator friends - both old and new - are so excited to join me in this worldwide hug that stretches all the way from New Zealand to Hawaii across thirteen different time zones.  We enjoy sharing sunshine with you through projects from our individual parts of the world on the second Wednesday of each month and hope that you are being inspired and feeling the warm fuzzies of our hug.

Thanks for joining us today!  We look forward to spending this time with you as we each share two  projects that coordinate - like tags, gifts, and who knows what else our creative minds have come up with.  So sit back and enjoy your favorite cuppa as you enjoy your trip Around the World on Wednesday!

My family has always been a family that gifts multiple cards for birthdays as Hallmark always says the perfect things in more than way...  my mom and I would always walk out with a handful of cards for just two or three occasions!  So the tradition continues with me for my immediate family when it comes to making cards for our special days.  As if I really need an excuse to make multiple cards, right?!? **WINK**

Inspired by Sharon Burkett's slim line Christmas card during last month's blog hop, I remembered a money gift holder I had created (a slim line card before I knew the name!) and that's how I came about with today's projects which were created for my hubby's August birthday!

To create the 3-1/2" x 8-1/2" card base, cut a full sheet of Night of Navy cardstock to 7" x 8-1/2"and score at 3-1/2"; fold and burnish with your bone folder.  Cut two pieces of Whisper White cardstock to 3" x 8".  and two pieces of Real Red cardstock to 3-1/8" x 8-1/8".  Select two circles from the Layering Circles Dies to die cut the life preserver in Whisper White.  Increase the outer circle and die cut in Real Red.  Use your paper snips to cut the Real Red wedges.  Adhere with liquid glue onto the preserver.  Attach White Baker's Twine (I used the retired twine; however, the Black & White Twine from the Pampered Pets Ribbon Combo Pack can be separated) around the edge... adhere with glue dots.  Place in the center of the Whisper White layer and stamp the Sailing Home and By the Dock images in Night of Navy.  Run the stamped layer with the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder through your embossing machine twice being mindful to line up the planks.  Adhere the preserver with dimensionals and the layers with liquid glue.

For the inside, stamp the A Good Man and By the Dock images with Night of Navy.  Color the relaxing gent with Night of Navy Combo, Crumb Cake Combo, Dark Daffodil Delight, Light Balmy Blue and Ivory Stampin' Blends alcohol markers.

My hubby loves clocks so the oars and compass were stamped to resemble a clock.  Using the Stamparatus stamp and off stamp the oars by marking edges of the Whisper White card layer horizontally and vertically.  The compass was stamped twice on Whisper White scraps... fussy cut one compass and die cut the needle for the other.  Adhere the needle to the compass with a glue dot (brads would work great for this, too, so it would actually spin).  The standard size card base was scored at 5-1/2" and 4-1/4", flipped over and scored halfway between the scorelines.  This created the accordian-type fold.

Stamp the inside in Night of Navy and color to coordinate with the slim line card.  Adhere the left stamped layer with Tear & Tape Adhesive to create a pocket for cash and/or gift cards.
