It's time for the October 2020 Challenge over at The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge! For this month's challenge designed by Beverly Cole, you can select any three of the design elements in a row on the board going in a horizontal, vertical or diagonal direction. I have chosen the diagonal row of Ribbon | Silhouette, Stitches... along with the middle horizontal row of Script | Silhouette | Checks, the top row of Black | Torn | Stitches and the left vertical row of Black | Script | Ribbon! Yes, the only elements missing from my card are Window and Glitter. **WINK**
The elements for this month's challenge were perfect for creating this special card made for a friend who lost their family cat unexpectedly.
Loosing a pet is never easy, but like with any other loss, an unexpected loss can be devastating. Having lost a family dog similarly, I know how much it helps with the grieving process to know that friends care about your loss. I hope that this card helps her through the times yet to come.
A leftover sentiment panel from an earlier batch of cards for my customers inspired my starting point for this Thick Whisper White 5" x 5" card base. The Rooted in Nature script sentiment was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento ink onto a scrap piece of Whisper White. The Ornate Labels die with its stitched detailing was the perfect touch to compliment the script. Braided Linen Trim was wrapped around the right edge and tied off with a bow. A scrap piece of trim was loosened and two threads were pulled out to attach the Playful Pets heart trinket.
The Buffalo Check background stamp was inked in Memento and stamped onto Whisper White. The background was played around with a bit before it was trimmed down with a Stitched Rectangles die. Continuing with the stitches element, the Love of Leaves bundle was perfect for the leaves that were stamped in So Saffron and Soft Sea Foam and sponged daubered with Calypso Coral, Cinnamon Cider, Balmy Blue and Mint Macaron inks creating a lush fall color palette. The cat silhouette was created with the Cat Punch. The leaves were fluffed prior to arranging and adhered with glue dots and liquid glue to the Whisper White layer embossed with the Old World Paper embossing folder. The right side of embossed panel was torn. The sentiment panel was scored and wrapped around the back of the Basic Black panel before being adhered to the Thick Whisper White card base.
I hope that today's project has inspired you to participate in The Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge, #JOSTTT022. Please be sure to pop over to receive more inspiration from the other design team members and I look forward to seeing your entry (entries) on the blog!
Have a blessed day!
