Crafty Collaborations Rainbow Blog Hop Banner

Hello friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying Valentine's Day!  Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Rainbow Blog Hop as we share lots of inspiration related to, yes, all things rainbows.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!

Today's Project

It's the time of year where I love to be covered up with quilts... the more the merrier especially on cold nights for a wonderfully sound sleep.  The Sale-A-Bration Simply Marbleous 6"x 6" Designer Series Paper (FREE with a qualifying order through the end of this month) has some amazing Spring colors that were perfect for creating a colorful quilted rainbow paper quilt.

Project Details

The Simply Marbleous DSP was cut into 1-3/4" strips for cutting the colors of the rainbow - Blushing Bride, Flirty Flamingo, Soft Saffron, Bumblebee, Pool Party, Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue, Misty Moonlight, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape.  **swoon** Can't you just imagine these fabrics in a cool, crisp cotton fabric?  Well, that's what I enjoyed picturing while creating this card.

SIMPLY MARBLEOUS 6" X 6" (15.2 X 15.2 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

The stitched triangles die-cuts were arranged and adhered to a 5-1/4" strip of Basic White cardstock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The rainbow strip was embossed with the Stitched Greenery Die followed by an additional layer of Basic White cardstock.  A third layer of Basic White cardstock was die-cut with the Brilliant Rainbow scalloped edge die.  The top two layers were adhered together as shown with Multipurpose Liquid Glue allowing plenty of wiggle room to align the rainbow quilt and rainbow edge die properly.

White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon was wrapped around the rainbow layer, tied off with a bow and adhered to the larger Basic White embossed panel with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  All layers were adhered to the Thick Basic White card base with Tear & Tape Adhesive.

The Create with Friends sentiments were stamped with VersaMark onto Coastal Cabana cardstock, heat embossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder and fussy cut with Paper Snips.  The sentiments were adhered to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The inside was layered to compliment the card front.  The Calming Camellia sentiment was stamped with Coastal Cabana ink.  A second sentiment was stamped on the envelope front and flap to compliment the card.
