Waves of the Ocean Collection

Hello friends!  I hope you are doing amazing on this thankful Thursday.  Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Waves of the Ocean Blog Hop as we share lots of inspiration from the Waves of the Ocean Collection  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!

Today's Project

This collection of Early Release and Limited Edition products is so amazing and a must have for those of you who love the feel of sand underneath your feet!  The Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper was designed by one of our artists using hand-poured paint!  This paper is so gorgeous that I had to cut into one of breathtaking designs today. 

Project Details

Selecting the sheet featuring my favorite color combination in the Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper I quickly pulled the Sahara Sand Cardstock and Ink to compliment the colors... afterall, a touch of sand was needed, right?!  

My Stamparatus was used to stamp the wave image in Coastal Cabana ink onto the lower part of the Basic White cardstock layer and then embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  The pelican was stamped in Sahara Sand ink onto Basic White cardstock and die-cut with the coordinating die.  The pelican was colored with Petal Pink (light/dark), Light Smoky Slate and Light Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers.  The die-cut pelican was adhered to the stamped, embossed layer with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Coordinating die-cut clouds and flying birds were arranged and adhered to complete the relaxing scene of inspiration.  The edges were roughened slightly with the Bone Folder before adhering to a slightly larger Basic White cardstock layer.  

The sentiment was stamped with Sahara Sand ink onto Basic White cardstock and die-cut with a coordinating label die.  A smaller label was die-cut and connected to the larger label with Linen Thread and wrapped around the back of the adhered layers.  

The original DSP was embossed with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder and adhered to a Basic White cardstock layer.   The stamped, adhered layers were adhered to the DSP layers and then to the Sahara Sand card base.

The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front leaving plenty of room for handwritten  correspondence.  The envelope was stamped on the front and the envelope flap to give the recipient a sneak peek for what's inside.
