Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!  We are glad you have joined us and look forward to spending time with you as we share Let's Hear It For the Boys inspiration with you.  So sit back and enjoy your favorite cuppa as you enjoy your trip Around the World on Wednesday!

Today's Project

As of last week I continue to be the only female here on the pond.  Those close to me know that since last November our property was selected by a momma cat to be where she was comfortable enough to raise her kittens.  The hubby and son have been the ones that helped train them enough to be touchable so we could do the community thing to keep the population down.  Seems that we were not the only ones with this situation as it took us months to get in for the big day... so last week was when we found out the kittens were all males!

So it was only fitting that this month's theme was all about the boys... lol, so yes, I am loving the kittens that we have grown to love.

Project Details

The Cheerful Basket Bundle was the first set that I fell in love with from the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog as it featured one of the kittens.  And the basket reminds me of the handmade maple baskets that I love made here in the heart of the Ohio.  The New Horizons DSP (now retired) makes the perfect backdrop resembling a common view from our kitchen every day.

The black kittens were stamped with Memento ink onto Basic White Cardstock.  One of the images was stamped with the Stamparatus to create the reverse image using the Silicone Craft Mat.  Both images were colored with the Light Basic Black Stampin' Blends Marker leaving the markings specific to each of them.  The calico kitten was stamped with Memento ink onto Very Vanilla Cardstock.  The image was colored with Light Basic Black and Light/Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends Markers.  The commonality of the three are the green eyes so the Dark Parakeet Party Stampin' Blends Marker was the perfect match.

The basket was die-cut with the coordinating dies and Crumb Cake Cardstock.  The handle was die-cut from Basic White Cardstock and colored with the Bronze and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends.  The Bone Folder and Stampin' Dimensionals helped to create the three-dimensional look of the basket and the kittens.

The sentiment was heat embossed and die-cut with the Stylish Shapes banner die.  The Bone Folder was used to add the curves to the banner while Stampin' Dimensionals made for the sound center lift.

The inside was stamped and layered to compliment the card front.  The Home and Garden sentiment was heat embossed on the die-cut that coordinates with the stamped image of the basket.  And, yes, it has indeed been a joy to watch these kittens grow and hopefully, they will continue to love living here with us on the pond.

  1. What a fun card!! I love the basket bundle, too!! And my house seems to have a lot of cats around... My husband says he's not a cat person, but they seem to love him! He always has a cat or two on his lap.
