I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do!  We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.

This month we are sharing projects based on our Technique Challenge - Blending!  I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this fun sketch.

Today's Project

I love to watercolor and blend colors together by combining two or more colors together to create unique shades of color.  I usually play with ink; but thought I'd coloring with my Watercolor Pencils today.  Using my Blender Pen or Fine Tip Water Painter allowed me to create blended colors inspired by nature.

Project Details

Crumb Cake cardstock was the starting point for these nature cards... so Very Vanilla and Shimmery White cardstocks were chosen for the coloring layers.  The leaf image was stamped with Crumb Cake ink on each coloring layer.  The watercolor pencils - Old Olive, Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, and Early Espresso - were applied identically on all three coloring layers.  The difference was the blending tool - Blender Pen or Fine Tip Water Painter.

Soft Suede ink was used for creating the background layer to create a complimentary contrast.   The Charming Sentiments sentiment was also stamped with Soft Suede ink.  The two Shimmery White sentiments were heat embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder.

The insides of each card were stamped and layered to compliment the card fronts.  The 4-1/4" square cards fit in the Very Vanilla and Basic White Medium Envelopes for mailing.

More Inspiration

I hope that you have enjoyed this sketch and will use it yourself to create some cards for friends and family.  Up next on the blog hop is my friend Teri where you can continue along to see what she and all the others have created.  I am sure you will be filled with lots of inspiration!  And should you be inspired, please leave us a comment...  we love to hear from you.

  2. The crumb cake background looks great - tone on tone stamping is always a winner in my book! The background really sets off the watercolouring - I must get my pencils out!
