New at SU - Inked Botanicals Suite

New at SU! Blog Hop Banner - 2023

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Today I am hopping with the New at SU! Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative paper crafting ideas to share with you and get you crafting!  Today we are showcasing suites from the current Stampin' Up! 2023-2024 Annual Catalog and Online Exclusives.

Today's project is all about the Inked Botanicals Suite!  This amazing suite has a wonderful stamp set, coordinating punches, ribbon and 6"x6" Designer Series Paper!

This amazing DSP is the perfect to create quick and simple cards with the designs while using the punches along with the sentiments.  I chose to use the DSP as a focal point along with drawing my inspiration for today's project from the color palette in the designs!  Lost Lagoon, Crushed Curry, Petal Pink and Calypso Coral were the colors I chose to highlight.

Project Details...

The large floral image was colored with the broad tips of the Stampin' Write Markers and then breathed over to insure the ink was damp enough to stamp on the Very Vanilla Cardstock panel.  The image was recolored and stamped three additional times to create the design.

Next comes the fun part!  Punching with the coordinating punches!  Below is the design that I created with additional punches to determine which punch I wanted to start with...

And here is what the picture looked like after the punching was complete.  Isn't it amazing how the punches line up precisely with each other?!?

Each punched tile was heat embossed with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder four times.  Yes, this will take a while to do... I suggest having a small cardboard box or plastic container to do this so you do not burn your fingers.  Tweezers may work for you, too; however, I personally found them too difficult to use for this project.

Once dry, the embossed tiles were glued to two additional Very Vanilla tiles.  The tiles were adhered to a Very Vanilla Cardstock layer with Tear & Tape Adhesive with a touch of Multipurpose Liquid Glue to insure a close, tight fit.

The Lost Lagoon 1/4" Bordered Ribbon was cut in half, wrapped around the tiles and tied off with a bow! The sentiment was stamped with Lost Lagoon ink and adhered with Mini Glue Dots on the embossed tile.

The tiled layer was adhered to this DSP layer that was created with six different patterns of this amazing paper to resemble the colors of a sunset.  This 6" length design was trimmed down and adhered to a Very Vanilla Cardstock layer which was embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder.

The inside of the card was embossed and stamped to compliment the card front leaving plenty of room for a note to the recipient.  The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope front and flap were also stamped to complete the card ensemble.
