Today's Project
It's been awhile since I have hopped and it feels so good to be here today!!! With the passing of my mother-in-law three months ago yesterday, I have learned how important it is to keep in touch with those who have experienced a loss. Grief happens differently to everyone and it is never a right or wrong time to reach out to your friends or loved ones. A little note in the mail can surprisingly be that one thing that a grieving person needs to lift their spirits. Today's sketch challenge was just what I needed to get my creative mojo going again during this season I am in.
Today's project took me a bit longer than usual to create though it was so simple to do! I'm a bit rusty with the creative process these days, but it will be so easy to replicate!!!
Here is the sketch...
And this is what I was inspired to create...
Totally inspired by this sketch, I hope that you will be inspired by the sketch, too!
Project Details
The Nested Essentials Dies were a must for this card!
The amazing new Extraordinary Flora Bundle was used to create a floating panel from the stitched rounded rectangle die-cut which was shortened to create a rounded square.
The flora images were stamped with Night of Navy ink and die-cut with the coordinating die. This bundle is amazing as it's one BIG stamp of 16 images and one BIG die of 16 die-cuts!
Each flower was simply colored using a Blender Pen to pull out the ink from the stamped image.
Each flora image was handpicked to fit the Basic White die-cut.
The floating effect was achieved thanks to Stampin' Dimensionals (cut in half for easy adhering).
The Beautiful Motifs sentiment was white heat embossed on the Night of Navy banner.
White Baker's Twine was wrapped around the banner twice and tied off with a small bow.
The main Night of Navy cardstock panel was embossed with the Damask Designs Embossing Folder.
Pressed Flower Motifs were added as a finishing touch.
The inside of the card was simply created from leftovers from the card front!
Two leftover flora images created the bottom corner.
Embossed Night of Navy scraps were trimmed a smidge less than a 1/2" to hug the flora die-cuts.
A second Beautiful Motifs sentiment was stamped to compliment the card front.
The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was embossed to complete the card ensemble.
