Hello friends! I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day! Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do! We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you. There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.
This month we are sharing projects for our Sounds of the Season theme challenge! I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this fun theme.
Today's Project
Do you enjoy Christmas music as much as I do? Granted the spectrum of songs is as varied as we are individuals. I chose one of my favorites The First Noel... Christmas isn't Christmas until I have heard Johnny Mathis sing this heartfelt classic. You can click here to enjoy his amazing version of this classic. And this is the card inspired by this song.
Project Details
I chose to let the dies do all the work for this card. You may wish to use the Adhesive Sheets to back your cardstock for these die-cuts. I chose to use Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The Noel die from the Joy of Noel Dies makes a wonderful negative that you can use for other projects if you wish to repurpose your scraps... so die-cut with purpose!
Noel fit perfectly across the Very Vanilla cardstock layer with the first line completely showing the letters. A random pattern was created for the remaining lines lining up certain letters so the pattern could be easily replicated. The second full line worked perfectly for lining up the focal point of the card.
The largest two circles from the Stylish Shapes Dies created the base for the ornament from Crumb Cake cardstock which was die-cut twice. The circles were textured with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder and Crumb Cake ink was added with a Small Blending Brush for added depth. The nativity scene was die-cut from the Night Divine Dies twice from Night of Navy cardstock.
The star was die-cut twice from Distressed Gold Designer Series Paper using the Stars At Night Hybrid Embossing Folder.
A hole punch was used to create the opening for the Gold Simply Elegant Trim to be threaded through creating a ornament hanger which was adhered to the back with Scotch™ tape. The ornament was secured to the front with a Mini Glue Dot at the bottom of ornament which can be easily removed by the recipient.
More Inspiration
I hope that you have enjoyed this Sounds of the Season theme and will use it yourself to create some projects for friends and family. Up next on the blog hop is my dear friend Leonie where you can continue along to see what she and all the others have created. I am sure you will be filled with lots of inspiration! And should you be inspired, please leave us a comment... we love to hear from you.
