Today's Project

It feels so good to be back hopping with this amazing group of demonstrators.  I've so missed them over these last eight months!  And with that, I definitely miss the team member that we are being inspired by  today, Tina Zinck-MacDonald.  #AWOWalumni

December 2025 AWOW Team Member Focus - Tina Zinck-MacDonald

Tina found this wonderful Star Fun Fold in the fall and made several different variations of it sharing them on her blog.   And this is how she inspired me!

Project Details

Tina suggests playing with scrap paper to get started with this amazing fold with a WOW factor!  After watching her video, I was brave enough to get busy with the real thing!  These two cards were cut, scored and assembled in less than one hour.  The decorating took me a bit longer as I was fiddling with the inks and selecting colors.

My first attempts with the Star Fun Fold! Birds eyeview of the 5x7 and A2 size cardsMy first attempts with the Star Fun Fold! 5x7 (still need to decorate) and A2 size cards

This fun-fold is so fun and is actually rather simple to assemble.

Selecting the DSP to use is the hardest part as I had several I wanted to use!  And I am sure you will feel the same way.  TIP:  Select the person and occasion to make the DSP selection easier... otherwise, you may not be seen for days as you enjoy replicating this fun-fold.  **WINK**

I needed some Christmas cards with gift card holders so I thought this fold would be perfect... I just needed to determine the size.  I opted for the standard card size so the Basic White Medium Envelopes could be stamped and/or decorated with the DSP scraps.

The remaining section of card base was the perfect size to simply attach a gift card on the back with Mini Glue Dots... so I had to step it up a bit!

Stamped and splattered Branching Out diecuts create a Pocket and Tag for a Gift Card

Basic White card layers and diecuts (using the 2nd smallest of the Branching Out Dies) were stamped with Mossy Meadow and Shaded Spruce ink to compliment the Elegant Pine Snowflakes DSP.  Splatters were added with Pretty Peacock ink, water and a paint brush on my desk.  The centers of each stamped snowflake were dotted with the bullet tip of my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Marker.

To create the pocket, one diecut was scored on both ends to wrap around one stamped Basic White layer adhering with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the back and lightly along the bottom edge just above the stitching.  The remaining diecut was punched with one of the mini punches from the Hole Punch Assortment.  Colorful metallic ribbon was threaded through the punched hole and secured with a doubled White Baker's Twine bow.

The Delicate Pines sentiments were stamped with VersaMark ink onto Pretty Peacock cardstock, heat embossed with White WOW! Embossing Powder, fussy cut and adhered to the card layers with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped, dotted and splattered like the card layers.
