Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop Banner

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!  We are glad you have joined us and look forward to spending time with you as we share a fun inspiration about it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood!  So sit back and enjoy your favorite cuppa as you enjoy your trip Around the World on Wednesday!

Today's Project

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood... that starts right outside my door every morning.  I have always enjoyed the outdoors since childhood with nature walks being my favorite thing to do.  No matter where I am, it always feels good and "just like home".  So today I'm sharing a part of my wonderful neighborhood with you through my eyes.

It's currently festival time here in the Toledo area...  local festivals are running almost every weekend now through December (click here to see the list).  Lots of amazing food, crafts and fun!  Last weekend was the Greek-American Festival.  I personally am looking forward to the Apple Butter Festival next month.

Today's project is inspired by this wonderful time of year... as the outdoors are enjoyed in our neighborhoods and the festivals.

Project Details

The Autumn Bouquet Dies were used to highlight this project reminescent of all the woodwork that I love seeing in many craft booths at the festivals.  The large detailed die was used twice to create the Crumb Cake background which was embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder for additional texture.  The layer was adhered to a Very Vanilla card layer and double wrapped with Linen Thread.

The large Fond of Autumn image was stamped with Crumb Cake ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  The images were colored with Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze and Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends Markers.  The images were die-cut with the coordinating die and arranged as shown.  The Nuts About Squirrels image was colored with Crumb Cake and Soft Suede Stampin' Blends and fussy cut with a slight border to compliment the other die-cuts.  The sentiment was stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto scraps and die-cut with the curvy banner die.

Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots were added as a finishing touch.  The inside was left blank for correspondence while the remaining colored die-cut was used as a focal point.  The Very Vanilla Medium Envelope was stamped on the front and flap with coordinating images.

  6. Wo... reading the comments I see that I am not the only one... An apple butter festival? How does this happen? Do you eat apple pies? It looks so fabulous I want to know more! Otherwise your creation is very pretty. I like walking in the forest and touching the bark of trees and your article moved me a lot.
