Hello and happy 2024!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do!  We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.

This month we are sharing projects based on our Sketch Challenge!  I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this fun sketch.

Today's Project

I love dogwoods so much!  They were everywhere during my childhood days... in fact my parents planted one for me in their natural area.  The Detailed Dogwood stamp set is part of Sale-a-Bration so I just had to use it for today's project!  Here's the sketch where we were challenged to use some Glimmer and Shine...

And here's the card it inspired me to create...

Project Details

The 4-1/4" birthday card base is Mossy Meadow.  The Detailed Dogwood was stamped with Pebbled Path ink.  The stamped image was colored with Petal Pink, Light Mossy Meadow, Light Daffodil Delight and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends.

The shading of stamp itself makes the image easy to color.  Light Petal Pink was used over the entirety of each blossom while Dark Petal Pink was added in the shaded areas.  The centers of the blooms were colored with Light Mossy Meadow with the centers filled with Light Daffodil Delight and Mossy Meadow.  Dark Crumb Cake filled in the branches.

The dot image was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  With the cross of the lines, the dots were more than I liked, so I used my small detailed paint brush to dust off the embossing powder on some of the dots.  The completed card layer was adhered to another same size layer to create subtle depth prior to adhering the next layer and the card front.

The Notes of Nature sentiment was stamped with Pebbled Path ink.  The Notes of Nature Dies were used to die-cut the Vellum leaves twice which resembled the dogwood leaves image.  The sentiment panel was adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

The inside was stamped, heat embossed and layered to compliment the card front.  The Notes of Nature sentiment was stamped with Pebbled Path ink.  The dogwood image was off-stamped simply by using the ink that remained on the image from the card front.  The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.

More Inspiration

I hope that you have enjoyed this sketch and will use it yourself to create some cards for friends and family.  Up next on the blog hop is Jan where you can continue along to see what she and all the others have created.  I am sure you will be filled with lots of inspiration!  And should you be inspired, please leave us a comment...  we love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by my little corner of the world!
Have a blessed day!
