Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop Banner

Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop!  We are glad you have joined us and look forward to spending time with you as we share inspiration with you from our Sketch Challenge.  So sit back and enjoy your favorite cuppa as you enjoy your trip Around the World on Wednesday!

Today's Project

The holidays are behind us now as we embrace the seasons around us.  Here in NW Ohio, it is cold and rainy with the temperature dips bringing us "teasers" of snow.  So what is the old saying... when you're cold think of something warm?  In need of a birthday card, I could not pass up playing with my favorite dies from the Annual Catalog and mixing them with some new products from the new January-April 2024 Mini Catalog!

Here is the sketch...

And this is the card it inspired...

Project Details

The Petal Pink card base is 5" square.  The Crumb Cake square cardstock layer is the perfect size to use the new Everyday Details Dies as a visual division creating two triangles.  The Basic White daisies were adhered together with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The center disk flowers were colored with Dark Lemon Lolly and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Markers.  The two leaves were colored with a Dark Lost Lagoon Stampin' Blends Marker.  The delicate Basic White daisy foliage tucked nicely under the petals.

The Cheerful Daisies banner was die-cut from Petal Pink cardstock.  The Translucent Florals sentiment was stamped with Petal Pink ink onto Basic White cardstock, fussy cut and adhered to the Petal Pink banner die-cut.  Linen Thread was doubled and wrapped around the banner tying it off with a bow.  The assembled banner was adhered to the Crumb Cake layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and tucking the edge underneath.  The Crumb Cake layer was adhered to the Petal Pink cardbase.

Using the Bee Builder Punch as a guide, The Bee Mine Valentine bee body was stamped with Lemon Lolly ink onto Basis White.  The stripes were added with Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  The wings were stamped with VersaMark ink onto Vellum cardstock and heat emgossed with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.  The antennae were stamped, punched and adhered to the bee body with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The wings were punched and adhered to either side of the bee body with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  For a special touch, a Mini Action Wobbler was attached to the back directly over the adhesive strip and onto the Crumb Cake cardstock panel.  Blooming Pearls were used as a finishing touch.

The inside was layered and stamped to compliment the card front.  The Pretty Pansy sentiment was stamped with Crumb Cake ink onto the Basic White layer.  The Bee Mine Valentine hearts were stamped with Petal Pink ink.  A custom coordinating envelope was made using the Softly Stippled 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper which is earned for free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-Bration.
