New at SU Banner

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Today I am hopping with the New at SU! Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative paper crafting ideas to share with you and get you crafting!  Today we are showcasing products from the January-April 2024 Stampin' Up! Mini Catalog.

Today's project is all about Simple and Stepped Up Stamping!  Nothing like creating two simple cards - yes, two (2)! - with a series of stencils.

Stampin' Up! Enduring Beauty stencil cards | Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie

Creating these simple cards was so fun and relaxing!  The Enduring Beauty Bundle comes with this amazing set of five numbered decorative masks (aka stencils).  Over the past several weeks I've seen some fellow demonstrators using these masks in all sorts of orders... I actually tried them in test runs using the suggested order and in bloom order then leaf order.  I must say I prefer the suggested order!

Project Details...

A half sheet of Basic White Cardstock was the start of the simple cards.  The first decorative mask was centered along the half sheet with a post-it note being anchored on my Glass Mat under the v-cut for accurate placement of the remaining decorative masks.  Flirty Flamingo and Granny Apple Green ink pads were pressed face down onto the Glass Mat for the ink blending with Small Blending Brushes.  Light pressure was used with all the layers creating the subtle design.  Once complete, the cardstock was cut in half creating two card fronts.

The right half of the stenciled design was used to create a vertical card.  The right edge along with the top and bottom edges were trimmed to create a layer adhered to a Basic White Thick cardbase.  The sentiment was stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink.

The left half of the stenciled design was turned into a horizontal card front.  The Sweetly Scripted (SNEAK PEEK of a March 2024 Online Exclusives stamp set) sentiment was white heat embossed on a strip of Petal Pink cardstock.  The stenciled layer was directly adhered to a Basic White Thick card base.

A stepped up version of this card used the coordinating stamp set and dies.  The image was stamped with Crumb Cake ink and colored with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends.  I chose to color the buds to match the blooms vs the stencil depicting them as leaf buds.

The image was stamped a second time to create some additional dimension to colored image.  Vellum die-cuts from the coordinating dies added to the depth.  As a finishing touch the edges of the die-cut image were rounded up and down with a Bone Folder.  The image was adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the Exposed Brick 3D embossed Basic White cardstock layer.

The top right corner was distressed, rounded and separated to add some additional texture.  A doubled Linen Thread bow was adhered with Mini Glue Dots to the back of the white heat embossed Crumb Cake die-cut.

The inside of the card was stamped, colored, fussy-cut, layered, and embossed to compliment the card front.  The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was embossed to complete the card ensemble.

More inspiration is just around the corner.  I hope you have been inspired to create a simple card or a stepped up version of it to share with someone to get them smiling.  Now it's time to continue along the blog hop - you're currently with me, Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie, at #2 - to get more inspiration from the others... so look at the list below and continue along.  But before you do, please take a moment to leave a comment before you hop along to the next post.  We love reading your comments!
