Happy Thursday, y'all!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop as we share inspiration for this month's Color Challenge! There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!

Today's Project

We are currently between catalogs so I decided to focus on a coloring technique for this month's project.  Totally inspired by ALL the colors from the color challenge along with the light and airy look of the picture...

...this is what I was inspired to create!

Project Details

The Designer Tags Dies are the focal point of today's project!  The rose die-cut can be used in so many ways.  The tag was die-cut twice - once with Basic White Cardstock and again with Basic White Thick Cardstock.  TIP:  Diecut the rose and tag together when diecutting this layer to keep the shape of the tag from flattening.

The Thick Basic White tag was watercolored by applying ink from the ink pad lid to a clear block using a damp water brush.  I used Clear Block A (retired earlier this month in the USA) for this technique as it was the perfect size for getting the colors precisely where I wanted them using the smooshing technique (without the spritzing!).  When you use other size blocks remember that you're not applying color to the entire block just a small corner or section to achieve this look.  Two of the new 2024-2026 InColor™ inks were used for this fun watercoloring technique - Petunia Pop for the roses and Shy Shamrock for the leaves.  Placement of the colors was determined by using the intricate diecut tag as an overlay guide.

The butterfly and leaf sprigs were also watercolored using this same fun technique.

The Distressed Tiles 3D Embossing Folder was used to add texture to the Berry Burst Cardstock layer.  Further texture was added by distressing the edges with scissors.  The Pretty Peacock Cardstock layer was likewise distressed.

Linen Thread was looped and tied around both tag openings and wrapped secured to the back of the double distressed layer with dimensionals.  The Pretty Peacock layer was adhered to the Thick Basic White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The Cheerful Daisies sentiment was white heat embossed onto Starry Sky cardstock and adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Adhesive Backed Pearl Trio pearls were added as a finishing touch.

The inside of the card was left blank to allow plenty of room for corresponding to a dear friend during this Letter and Card Writing Month.  The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped and off-stamped with the sentiment using Berry Burst ink to complete the card ensemble.
