Playing in the Rain Cute Crochet for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop - June 2024 | Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge

Hello and happy May!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do!  We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.  

This month we are sharing projects based on our "FUN" Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!  I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this fun sketch.   

Today's Project

There's nothing like summertime!  This challenge inspired me to want to use all of the elements... but I couldn't quite find a way to have stars with this adorable little turtle!  So if you can, I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Project Details

I had so much fun creating this card for a special little one...  of a friend of mine.

The "yellow" Lemon Lolly card base is the same size of a large Memories and More card.  

The "emboss"ed Stylish Shapes large square die is the same size as the Clear Block D so it was simple to line up the Playing in the Rain turtle.  

The "fun" turtle was colored with Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon and Lemon Lolly Stampin' Blends.  

A Light Calypso Coral Stampin' Blend was used to color the "red" center of the flower.  

Nine of the 2nd smallest Stylish Shapes square die were die-cut and embossed with the Cute Crochet 3D Embossing Folder to create some "texture".  

The crochet squares were arranged in "1-2-3" order above and below the feature square.  

The "circle" is the "blue" Light Pool Party colored background around the turtle.  

A second large square was die-cut and colored with the circle mask, cut in half and then trimmed to fit the card front completing the large square row - yes, another 1-2-3 row.

The Unbounded Love sentiment was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and fussy cut before adhering to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The inside was layered to compliment the card front allowing plenty of room to write a sweet one to this special little one's parents.  Once done, the card fits perfectly in the Basic White Memories and More Large Envelope!
