Hello friends! I hope you are doing amazing on this first Tuesday of 2026. Today I am hopping with some Crafty Collaborators along the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop as we share lots of inspiration related to our technique of choice.
There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!
Today's Project
I've been itching to quilt.
Inspired by patterns for block quilting on Pinterest, I couldn't resist giving it a go...
Project Details
The December 2025 Product of the Month, True Blue Florals 12"x 12" Designer Series Paper (currently available for $5 with a qualifying $75 order while supply lasts), has the perfect designs for quilting!
The shades of blue were just the patterns to fit the nautical vibes.
Boats were on my mind due to gale warnings that kept flashing up on my phone last week for our county that is along Lake Erie.
A 1/2" strip was trimmed off of six sheets of the double-sided Designer Series Paper. Eight (8) squares (4 of each design) were cut from each strip and laid out to determine which patterns worked best together for the sailboats I wanted to piece together.
The 1/2" squares were arranged on a 3-3/4" Basic White Cardstock layer. A few additional squares of certain patterns were cut to complete the sails and flags to cut all the right angles. The designs were secured with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
The Beautiful Pattern 3D Embossing Folder created the finishing stitches. The quilted squares were adhered to 3-7/8" Balmy Blue squares with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The assembled squares were adhered to the Night of Navy 4-1/4" square card bases with Stampin' Dimensionals.
The insides were layered and embossed to compliment the card fronts. The Basic White Medium Envelope flaps were embossed to complete the card ensembles.
