Adhesives on vellum...

TGIF!!!  It's been quite a week for me... dealing with my sick boy who in turn made me sick... adjusting to the changes in our dog who has rheumatoid arthritis along with healing from a sprained elbow and paw...  so now you see why I say TGIF!!!!  :)

Seriously, with not feeling well, I was at least able to create two beautiful cards that I submitted in my first ever card challenges this week!!  It was fun... until I goofed on the design for my second card challenge thanks to working with vellum on a card.

For years, I've used the vellum tape but that's for scrapbooking and if you see the tape... it just does not matter.  With my design, I wanted the elements of the card to appear floating in the air.  Nothing like trying to recreate something that I saw the lovely Jennifer McGuire do in her blog video from memory...  Well, the first card was coming along perfect until I applied way too much glue - not a lot of glue by any means, just the amount I would normally use.  The second card turned out much better...  glue for the vellum and adhesive tear tape for attaching it to the cardstock not glue like did with the first one.

Can you see what I was trying to do??
I'll definitely give the first attempt another try but not under a card challenge deadline!  :)

Hopefully, my mistake can help you, too.  So with a lesson learned, one card will be sent to someone and the other will be on my shelf as a goofed reminder and an inspiration for other projects to come.  Hmmmm... I think, I just thought of something... glue on vellum for underwater effects, maybe?!?  Off to the craft room!
