New at SU! Blog Hop Banner - 2023

Hello and welcome to my blog!  Today I am hopping with the NEW AT SU! Blog Hop!  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative paper crafting ideas to share with you and get you crafting!  Today we are showcasing products from the Online Exclusives .

Today's project is all about nature!  I love nature and am surrounded by it every day.  When I saw the So Very Merry Stamp Set I fell in love with the stained glass images.  The majority of this year's Christmas cards that I send will be featuring these beautiful images.  So I decided to play with the stamp set today as an every day theme!  **Please note that this stamp set has been so popular that it is currently unavailable, but more are expected the week of July 31st.

Creating this stained glass background was fun!  So it will be fun to create similar backgrounds with the other images, too.

Project Details... the 2-3/8" Circle Punch was used to start the process of creating the cardinal backgrounds.  Two circles from Stitched Shapes Dies were die-cut at the same time on a 4" square of Basic White Cardstock.  Placing the circles as close to the center prior to die-cutting created the frame for one card and the negative frame layer for the other.

A Copic Multiliner Water & Copic Proof Pigment Ink SP 0.1 Pen was used to add the random lines in the background.  Stampin' Blends Markers were used to color the image and the die-cut circle.  The Basic Borders Dies were used to create the sentiment layer featuring the clear embossed Around the Bend sentiment.  The leaf branch from the Mini Pocket Envelope Dies (currently an Online Exclusive) were die-cut and colored with coordinating Stampin' Blends.  A Sweet Sorbet circle and some Linen Thread rounded up the arrangement on the Timeworn Type embossed Crumb Cake layer which was easily roughened for additional texture.  The Crumb Cake card base was randomly stamped with the So Very Merry leaves stamp.  A few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots were the finishing touch to this special card.

The inside was stamped and layered to compliment the card front.  A sponge dauber came in handy to add a bit of aging to the Basic White Cardstock which allows plenty of room to correspond to the recipient.  The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.

The die-cut negative image from the previous card was trimmed down evenly around the circle.  The 2-3/8" Circle Punch created the cardinal background once again.  The negative layer was ink embossed with one of the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders from my stash of embossing folders which I thought were all current (oops!).  A layer of Vellum Cardstock softened the cardinal image colored with Stampin' Blends Markers.  The Charming Sentiments sentiment was white heat embossed and fussy cut - thankfully, there are coordinating dies should you not wish to fussy cut.  Adhesive-Backed Sparkle Gems added a finishing touch to the card front.

The inside was layered and embossed to compliment the card front leaving plenty of room for a short note to the recipient.  The Basic White Medium Envelope flap was embossed to complete the card ensemble.
