Happy Thursday, y'all!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with the Ink & Inspiration Blog Hop as we share inspiration from our Color Inspiration Challenge!  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and enjoy your favorite coffee, tea, water, or smoothie as we share some handmade projects with you!

Today's Project

This month's color inspiration challenge makes me want to the beach!  I just want to curl my toes in the sand and wiggle them around as the waves come in and out over my feet while they sink into the sand.

Ink and Inspiration July 2023 Color Inspiration Challenge (Balmy Blue, Petal Pink, Lemon Lolly, Sweet Sorbet, Pecan Pie, Night of Navy)

For years, I've been enjoying the sandy beach along our pond, so today's card is a tribute to the beauty surrounding me every day.

Project Details

The Balmy Blue ink blended background was trimmed to fit inside the pierced border of the Scalloped Contours Die Basic White die-cut.  A 2-1/2" strip of Pecan Pie cardstock was crumpled and wadded in a ball multiple times until it was soft to the touch.  The wadded cardstock ball was opened, smoothed and torn lengthwise to create two layered panels to represent sandy soil.

The flowers stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Basic White cardstock were colored with Light Balmy Blue, Dark Light Lolly, Dark Sweet Sorbet, and Dark Petal Pink Stampin' Blends Markers then fussycut before adhering behind the sandy soil.  The sentiments were stamped in Night of Navy ink on Basic White cardstock.  White Baker's Twine was double wrapped around the Basic White Scalloped Contours die-cut.  The focal layer was double layered for subtle dimension.

The Night of Navy cardstock layers were die-cut and embossed.  The embossed layer was sponged with  Whisper White Craft ink along the outside edge.  A microfiber cloth was used to create a distressed look. The Night of Navy layers were adhered to the Night of Navy cardbase with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The Basic White assembled card layer was adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals with a touch of Multipurpose Liquid Glue for some wiggle room.  **You may wish to add a few embellishments for a finishing touch... something I opted not to do prior to photographing.

The inside was layered and inked to compliment the card front allowing plenty of room to correspond to the recipient.  The Basic White card layer was blended with Balmy Blue ink while the flowers were masked along the the pierced border.  The Basic White Medium Envelope front and flap were stamped to complete the card ensemble.

    1. Thanks, Tracy! Nothing like blending two of the colors to create another color that's not in the challenge. :)
