Cheerful Daisies Birthday Card

Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop Banner | Nature's INKspirations by Angie McKenzie

Hello friends!  I'm so glad that you're here and hope you are having a wonderful day!  Today I am hopping with some of my talented stamping friends from around the world who love creating with Stampin' Up!® products as much as I do!  We love hopping on the second weekends of the month - Saturday or Sunday depending on where you are in the world - and love sharing lots of inspiration with you.  There are several of us hopping today - you will find the list to follow along towards the bottom of my blog post - so sit back and relax with your favorite cuppa as you peruse the hop.

This month we are sharing projects based on our first Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge!  I am sure that you will find lots of different interpretations and inspiration from this fun sketch.

Today's Project

I always love a challenge and this month is a doozie.  I chose to play along with the top horizontal row and the right vertical row.

Project Details

The background was created with the edge of the angled Basic Borders Die, Boho Blue ink, and the wide tip Water Painter to create the angles on the background.  The dry brush tip was inked from an acrylic block that had been tapped on the ink pad.  The inked brush tip was ran along the edge of the die with the straight edge of die aligning along the edge of the Basic White Cardstock.  The die was wiped with a microfiber cloth and the dry brush stroke was repeated three more times around the cardstock layer.

Supplies used to create the angled background for the Cheerful Daisies Birthday Card

The Cheerful Daisies were die-cut with the largest die and the coordinating layers multiple times with Basic White Cardstock.  The large die-cuts were separated with Paper Snips.  Lemon Lolly ink was applied to the daisy centers with a detailed blending brush while Pretty Peacock was applied to the leaves with a Small Blending Brush.  The assembled daisies were arranged and arranged around a medium Stylish Shapes Circle Die.  The delicate greenery was die-cut from Pretty Peacock Cardstock.

The shine and twine was created by cutting a length of Silver 1/8" Trim Ribbon (Online Exclusive) in half and pulling off the sheer ribbon (so easily done) as the silver pulled away like icicles on a Christmas tree.  **SWOON**. Threads were wrapped around the Basic White Cardstock layer and adhered to the back with Tear & Tape Adhesive.  The remnants of the thread were gathered together and tied into a bow to tuck behind the detailed greenery.

The Around the Bend sentiment was stamped with Boho Blue ink, fussy cut and adhered to the daisy arrangement with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The daisies were adhered to the card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The assembled Basic White Cardstock layer was adhered to a Boho Blue Cardstock layer and cardbase.  Iridescent Pearls was added as a finishing touch for another touch of shine.

The inside was stamped and layered to compliment the card front.  The large Layering Leaves sentiment was stamped with Boho Blue ink.  The smaller Something Fancy sentiment was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink.  The envelope front and flap was stamped to complete the card ensemble.  The Cheerful Daisies daisy was off stamped with Boho Blue ink, the center was stamped with Lemon Lolly ink, and the leaf was stamped in 2nd and 3rd generation Pretty Peacock.  The centers of the daisy petals were highlighted with the Boho Blue Stampin' Write Marker.
